Iraqi authorities and International Coalition revealed Sunday the launch of military operations in Mousl to liberate the right bank of the city from the grip of the extremist group ISIS. The governmental television announced the liberation of eight villages and the killing of six leaders working with the group hours after the operations launch.
The Iraqi government and the international coalition described the new operations as complicated, as Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al Abadi issues orders to the military forces to give the priority to the protection of civilians. He said, "The advanced forces work to liberate the human before the land."
Leader of International Coalition Stephen Townsend described the operations as the most difficult for any army across the world. The Iraqi television announced the liberation of eight villages hours after the launch of military operations to liberate the right bank of the city.
Leader of Nineveh Operations Najm Al Jabori revealed the killing of six leaders of the extremist group at Lazaka village liberated recently from the grip of ISIS, underlining the lack of resistance from the elements of the group.
According to Iraqeya channel, the Iraqi forces managed to liberate eight villages only four hours after their advance. Local sources in Nineveh said that the Iraqi forces attacked five patrols related to ISIS leading to a number of killings and injuries among the group's militants, as the extremist group decided to ban the movement at six districts.
The decision, according to the source, came in the framework of the group's fear of potential attacks against its patrols. It added that unidentified people set the fire on headquarters of the group in the western districts of Mousl after evacuating them from the extremist elements.
In Anbar, the eighth unit of the Iraqi army started working to dig a trench in the western side of Ramadi to protect the city From the infiltration of extremists or car bombs coming from the desert.
